ArtVerona 2022: 17th Edition Opens with New Sections and International Curators

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The 17th edition of ArtVerona, led by Stefano Raimondi (who has been confirmed for an additional two years), kicks off in Verona featuring 140 galleries, with 80% returning from previous years. It includes 22 curators, six of whom are international, such as Chrissie Iles, the newly appointed curator for the upcoming Whitney Biennial. New sections at the fair include Visiting Curator, Curated by, Introduction, and Pages, fostering collaborations among galleries, curators, and artists. The CAMERA project showcases video works from Italian institutions and international collections. Notable artists featured in Habitat are Marina Apollonio, Luciano Fabro, Ugo La Pietra, and Nanda Vigo. The hashtag #Italiansystem highlights support for the Italian art community, with Raimondi aiming to attract more international galleries and partnerships. Newcomers include Prometeo, Norma Mangione, and younger galleries like Societé Interlude. Verona's contemporary art landscape has expanded with private collections such as Carlon and Fondazione E.ART.H by Eataly.
