ArtVerona 2020 goes digital with three online events

ArtVerona's 16th edition, originally scheduled for October 2020 and postponed to December, has been definitively moved to 2021 due to the second wave of the pandemic and the Italian government's November 3 decree. In place of the physical fair, the organization launches a series of digital initiatives on the Artshell platform, free for exhibitors and the public, running from late November 2020 to January 2021. The program, developed with ANGAMC, includes three segments: Digital Black (November 27), a 24-hour 'Black Friday' where galleries offer one artwork at the lowest possible price; Digital Yellow (December 4-14), allowing galleries to present 5-15 works, including Level 0 which involves museums and private foundations selecting an Italian artist for future programming; and Digital White (December 15 to January 10), a solo show format for ANGAMC member galleries. Participating foundations include Fondazione Baruchello (Rome), Fondazione Coppola (Vicenza), Fondazione Dalle Nogare (Bolzano), Fondazione Giuliani (Rome), Fondazione Morra Greco (Naples), and Nomas Foundation (Rome). Director Stefano Raimondi stated the digital calendar is conceived as an original and autonomous initiative to promote the Italian modern and contemporary art system, while building on the planned physical edition for 2021.
