ArtVerona 2019: 15th Edition with Focus on Czech and Slovak Art

ArtVerona's 15th edition, directed by Adriana Polveroni, will take place October 11–13 at Veronafiere. The fair continues its #backtoitaly theme, promoting emerging Italian art. It features 115 galleries in the Main Section, plus sections for research and experimentation: Focus on (this year highlighting contemporary art from the Czech Republic and Slovakia), Grand Tour (foreign galleries in Italy and Italian galleries abroad), Scouting (16 young galleries), and Raw Zone (8 young galleries). Free Stage presents 8 artists without gallery representation, selected by Alberto Garutti. 14 project spaces are curated by Cristiano Seganfreddo for i10 Spazi Indipendenti. For its 15th anniversary, ArtVerona opens the Gallerie Mercantili, a 6,400 sqm industrial archaeology building under restoration, transformed into Loony Park, an interactive installation by Norma Jeane curated by Paola Tognon and realized by Contemporary Locus. The Verona Art Week includes events in the Veronetta district: La quarta notte di quiete curated by Christian Caliandro; Contemporanee, contemporanei at Polo Santa Marta; To be played at Giardino Giusti; and exhibitions Carlo Zinelli. Visione Continua and Omaggio a Mirko Basaldella curated by Luca Massimo Barbero at Fondazione Cariverona.
