Arturo Martini and Elio Armano Ceramics Dialogue in Asolo Monastery
An exhibition at the former Benedictine monastery of SS. Pietro e Paolo in Asolo presents ceramic works by Arturo Martini (Treviso, 1889 – Milan, 1947) alongside rare earth sculptures by Elio Armano (Padua, 1945). Curated by Mauro Perosin, the show features a selection from the Fondazione Famiglia Zago, with installation design by Gabriele Toneguzzi and craftsmanship by Giampaolo Didonè and Asolo Costruzioni e Restauri. Martini, a master of plastic arts, worked extensively with clay from his native Treviso. Armano, a pupil of Alberto Viani (who was himself a student of Martini), treats clay as a precious material, blending tradition and innovation. The exhibition fosters a dialogue between the two sculptors, inviting visitors to engage as active participants rather than passive observers.
