Artsted Platform Expands to Offer NFT Creation for Artists

digital · 2026-04-27

Artsted, an online contemporary art marketplace launched in 2020, now enables its registered artists to create authenticated NFTs through a streamlined two-step process. The platform initially focused on physical artworks with a preference for new technologies. Now, artists can select the NFT function from the menu, submit their work for originality review, and upon approval, receive a token. A second authentication step creates a permanent digital signature. The resulting NFTs are available for purchase on the platform via cryptocurrency or fiat currency, with collectors choosing to store purchases on Artsted's secure system or in personal wallets. Founder Maryna Rybakova, who began following blockchain and digital art dynamics in 2016, attended the 2019 CADAF in Miami where she connected with pioneers including Serena Tabacchi, Elena Zavelev, Fanny Lakoubay, Kate Vass, and digital artist Federico Clapis. She notes that NFTs have shaken the art world, offering artists emancipation from the gallery system and benefiting from resale royalties embedded in smart contracts. Curator Kenny Schachter comments that NFTs present a transformative opportunity to focus on art in a diversified way across artists of all backgrounds. The platform aims to bring expertise and order to a traceable, public environment while combining a conscious curatorial perspective.
