Artsper and artpress Present Curated Art Picks for Art Paris 2022

festival-fair · 2026-04-23

Artsper, the leading European online art marketplace, partnered with artpress magazine for the Art Paris fair (April 7–10, 2022). In a two-part collaboration, the second installment features a curated selection of artworks from galleries participating in both the physical fair and Artsper's platform. The selection includes works by Léon Spilliaert, Philippe Ramette, James Earley, and Laëtitia Giraud, each accompanied by commentary from artpress critic Richard Leydier. Spilliaert's lithograph 'Femme au bord de l'eau' (2021 edition) is based on a 1910 drawing, translated for the first time into lithography using vintage machines. Ramette's 'Promenade irrationnelle' (2003) depicts the artist in a surreal, gravity-defying pose. Earley's 'Shame' (2022) shows two men praying in a barren field with distant explosions, evoking post-9/11 Afghanistan. Giraud's 'Ease your feet in the sea' (2016) references a Belle and Sebastian song and explores the surface and depths of the sea. Artsper also offers online exhibitions and an interview with Art Paris general commissioner Guillaume Piens.
