Artrooms Fair to Launch in Rome in March 2018

Artrooms, a hotel-based art fair founded in London in 2015 by Cristina Cellini Antonini and Francesco Fanelli, will hold its first Rome edition from March 2 to 4, 2018, at the four-star Hotel The Church Palace on Via Aurelia. The fair targets independent artists not exclusively represented by galleries, offering free space and accommodation. Applications are open until December 12, 2017, with a selection committee including Christian Fannenboeck Campini, Alastair Smart, and Pietro di Pierri. The event fills a gap left by previous Rome fairs: Roma – the Road of Contemporary Art (last edition 2012), Roma Contemporary, and Affordable Art Fair (single edition). Artrooms features a Sculpture Park in the hotel's private park and a video art section in its auditorium. The fair also includes a digital Gallery Affiliation Programme connecting artists with galleries. Rome was chosen for its artistic heritage and international appeal, despite recent bureaucratic challenges.
