Artribune Podcast: Ludovico Pratesi Narrates Palazzo Braschi in Rome
Artribune has introduced a new podcast series named 'Da solo al museo' (Alone at the Museum), overseen by art critic Ludovico Pratesi. This series delves into Italian museums that have remained closed since November 4, 2020, due to COVID-19 measures. The fifth installment highlights Palazzo Braschi in Rome, an architectural work by Cosimo Morelli, constructed from 1791 to 1804 as a present for Pope Pius VI's nephew, Luigi Braschi Onesti. Situated between Piazza Navona and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the palace has been home to the Museo di Roma since 1952, showcasing 17th-century artworks that depict Rome's history. The updated exhibition design features multimedia elements for an enhanced visitor experience while maintaining the rooms' original purpose. Key pieces include works by Pompeo Batoni, Philippe-Jacques van Brée, and Filippo Gagliardi. Pratesi has previously narrated episodes on Palazzo Barberini, Palazzo Altemps, MAXXI, and the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. The podcast can be accessed on Spreaker.
