Artribune launches podcast episode on cinema, literature, and special effects

Artribune has released a new episode of its podcast 'Contemporaneamente,' curated by Mariantonietta Firmani, featuring writer Mattia Acetoso and visual effects expert Gaia Bussolati. The episode explores the intersection of literature, cinema, technology, and poetry, discussing how film serves as a mirror of society and how illusions help understand reality. Acetoso is an associate professor of Italian literature at Boston College, Massachusetts, with a PhD from Yale University, and specializes in 20th-century Italian poetry, melodrama, and opera libretti. He is also involved in publishing the unpublished correspondence of poet Umberto Saba in collaboration with the Biblioteca Nazionale di Roma. Bussolati, born in Turin in 1972, studied architecture and was named by Forbes Italia among the top 100 successful women in 2020. She has worked as a visual effects supervisor on films such as 'Il Primo Re,' 'Come Dio comanda,' 'La prima cosa bella' (nominated for an Oscar), 'Il capitale umano,' and 'Game therapy,' and has created commercials for brands like Mueller, Philadelphia, and Volkswagen. The podcast aims to provide new perspectives on contemporary issues between local and global, individual and society.
