Artribune Launches Digital Series on Farnesina Collection

digital · 2026-04-27

Artribune has partnered with Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to produce a multi-platform editorial project showcasing the Farnesina Collection, housed in Palazzo della Farnesina in Rome. The collection spans 20th-century Italian art, featuring works by Sironi, Cagli, Campigli, Pirandello, Martini, and post-war artists such as Accardi, Sanfilippo, Dorazio, and Consagra. It also includes Arte Povera (Kounellis, Merz), Pop Art (Rotella, Schifano), Conceptual Art (Isgrò), and works from the late 20th century, including Anacronismo (Mariani, Gandolfi) and Transavanguardia (Chia, Cucchi, Paladino). The collection's masterpieces are frequently loaned to international exhibitions organized by the Ministry or requested by museums worldwide. The project includes a ten-episode web series titled 'Spazi d’Artista,' launching December 5, 2020, with monthly films on Artribune's website and social media. Each film profiles an artist in their studio, exploring their relationship with workspace during pandemic restrictions. Additionally, a special edition of Artribune Magazine features 23 pages on the collection, with contributions from art historian Angela Tecce, curator Gianfranco Maraniello, and Anna Mattirolo, former director of MAXXI Arte. The magazine traces Italian art from Futurism to the present and discusses Italy's support for artists at all career stages.
