ArtReview's CHART Copenhagen Talks Explore 'The End of the Artworld as We Know It'

festival-fair · 2026-04-20

ArtReview has organized the talks program for the CHART art fair in Copenhagen for the fourth consecutive year. The series, titled 'The End of the Artworld as We Know It,' features six panel discussions and one performance, all free to the public. Events will primarily be held at the Kuppelsalen of Kunsthal Charlottenborg from September 2-3, 2023, coinciding with the fair's run from September 1-3. A performance titled 'Acid Money' by the artist duo Goldin + Senneby, exploring conspiracy magic and finance, will take place on September 1. Panel topics range from 'Globalism and its discontents' and 'Does professional art criticism lead to better art?' to 'Is radical change possible in today's contemporary art world?' and 'Can art be anti-social?' Notable speakers include artists Alex Da Corte, Christian Falsnaes, Tue Greenfort, Kirstine Roepstorff, and Bose Krishnamachari; curators Helga Christoffersen, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy, and Hans Ulrich Obrist; and critics like Chris Fite-Wassilak. The program is supported by The City of Copenhagen, Goethe Institute, and the Ny Carlsberg Foundation. CHART, established in 2013 by five founding galleries, returns to Kunsthal Charlottenborg for its fifth edition, showcasing galleries from across the Nordic region.
