ArtReview partners with 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair for global media coverage
ArtReview has established a worldwide media partnership with 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, which operates annual editions in London, New York, and Marrakesh. Founded in 2013 by Touria El Glaoui, the fair exclusively focuses on contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. Its name derives from the 54 nations comprising the African continent. The London edition, scheduled for October 12–15, 2023, at Somerset House, will feature 62 international exhibitors, with one-third representing galleries from Africa. Fourteen exhibitors are new to the London fair this year. Over 170 artists working in diverse mediums, including painting, sculpture, and installation, will be presented. The fair includes artist talks, panel discussions, and a Special Projects programme. A press preview is set for October 12.
