ArtReview Launches Korean Art Supplement Featuring 17 Artists and Biennale Directors

The September edition of ArtReview showcases a dedicated supplement focused on contemporary Korean art, highlighting 17 artists chosen by the Korean Arts Management Service (KAMS), affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Among these, nine artists are part of the Korean Artists Today initiative, aimed at increasing international visibility through their works in painting, sculpture, and video. Additionally, eight artists are acknowledged for their innovative practices in new media and multidisciplinary fields. The supplement features discussions with Philippe Pirotte and Vera Mey from the Busan Biennale, alongside Nicolas Bourriaud from the Gwangju Biennale, offering perspectives on the Korean art landscape. This autumn, three exhibitions will showcase Korean artists at No. 9 Cork Street in London, accompanied by a glossary of Korean terminology.
