ArtReview Launches Chinese Edition in Collaboration with Yishu Shijie
ArtReview has introduced its first foreign-language edition, a Chinese version launching on 10 November during Shanghai Art Week. This quarterly publication results from a partnership between ArtReview, founded in 1949, and the Chinese art journal Yishu Shijie. It will feature translated content from ArtReview and ArtReview Asia alongside original writing on China's art scene, aiming to bridge divides between Chinese and international contemporary art. The debut issue includes a cover by Cao Fei and an interview with science-fiction writer Wang Kanyu discussing the metaverse and future city-states. Designed by Twelve Design Ltd, based on John Morgan studio's brand concept, the magazine will also offer previews of global exhibitions and reviews of international shows and books. ArtReview, owned by Meta Media, connects with over a million people monthly through its website, newsletters, and social media, and hosts events worldwide. The Chinese edition will be published four times annually with continuous WeChat updates.
