ArtReview Hosts Talks on Museums, Space, and Engagement at 2016 CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen

ArtReview organized a series of panel discussions at Kunsthal Charlottenborg on August 27 or 28, 2016, during the CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen. The talks explored contemporary art's structures, with four distinct sessions. In 'The Museum Now,' Mark Rappolt moderated a conversation featuring Eugene Tan of National Gallery Singapore, Björn Geldhof from Yarat Contemporary Art Space in Baku, and Jérôme Sans and Nicolas Bourriaud, co-founders of Palais de Tokyo, discussing museums' cultural roles. 'The Contemporary Space' panel, introduced by Oliver Basciano, included artist Douglas Coupland, architect Bjarke Ingels of BIG, and Sebastien Noel from Troika, examining artistic and architectural responses to modern environments. Another session, 'Engaging in Art,' led by Rappolt, involved Tom Eccles from the Center for Curatorial Studies Bard in New York and architect-curator Nikolaus Hirsch, focusing on public engagement strategies. The final talk, 'Painters Painting,' moderated by Basciano, featured artists Mamma Andersson and Tal R discussing their collaborative painting project. These events were part of ArtReview's curated program for the fair, which ran from August 26 to 28, 2016, and were recorded for later release on November 16, 2016.
