ArtReview Asia screens Anand Patwardhan's controversial 1992 film on Hindu fundamentalism
ArtReview Live will present a screening of Anand Patwardhan's 1992 feature film IN THE NAME OF GOD on Wednesday 23 September at 7pm. The event celebrates the Autumn issue launch of ArtReview Asia. Patwardhan's documentary examines the growth of Hindu fundamentalism in India during the 1980s and 1990s, which brought the filmmaker both international recognition and controversy. Religious violence across the country is documented in the film. The screening takes place at ArtReview Bar, 1 Honduras Street in London EC1Y 0TH, with limited seating requiring RSVP to rsvp@artreview.com. A bar will remain open until 11pm.
