ArtReview Asia Autumn 2024 Explores Concepts of Home and Belonging Through Global Artists
The Autumn 2024 edition of ArtReview Asia delves into the themes of home and belonging as interpreted by various artists. At Kyiv's Pinchuk Art Centre, Pakistani filmmaker Hira Nabi showcases 'Wild Encounters' (2023), connecting the community of Murree with her earlier work, 'How to Love a Tree' (2019). Chinese-Malaysian artist Tan Zi Hao investigates linguistic identity in Malaysia through his engagement with diverse languages. Mire Lee presents large-scale installations that challenge conventional rhythms. Do Ho Suh's 'Speculations' is featured at Seoul's Art Sonje Center, highlighting his Bridge Project. The issue also includes Suraj Yengde's insights on Dalit food culture, Yuwen Jiang's piece on a rural chapel in China, and Pearamon Tulavardhana's exploration of Bangkok Kunsthalle. Upcoming events include the Karachi Biennial and the Forest Festival of the Arts.
