ArtReview announces 2026 Venice Biennale events and regional coverage
ArtReview has scheduled a partnership event with the Erarta Foundation at the Scoletta Battioro e Tiraoro di Venezia in Venice on Friday 8 May 2026, featuring Arch Hades and editor Fi Churchman. The 2026 Venice Biennale will run from 31 July to 14 November, with 50 galleries participating, nearly two-thirds of which are from the region. Artist Abdul Halik Azeez critiques urban planning initiatives in Sri Lanka's commercial capital through an illustrated text. Cindy Ziyun Huang reviews reflections on Chinese labor and migration histories, while Leela Keshav examines an artist's work with nonimages that operate through codes. Sofia Hallström discusses a new exhibition tracing the legacy of visionary Belgian fashion designers. Yuwen Jiang reviews an edition addressing technological mediation crises. Anandi Mishra shares personal reflections on life in Delhi. The Venice Biennale is described as one of the few remaining platforms for free and equal discourse on all topics.
