Artpress publishes interview collection with poet Marcelin Pleynet
Artpress has released a new volume in its 'Les grands entretiens' series featuring Marcelin Pleynet, a major figure in contemporary poetry and art criticism. Pleynet, who debuted in 1962 with 'Provisoires Amants des nègres,' has consistently integrated subjectivity, metaphysics, biography, and history into his writing. His art criticism influenced the Support-Surface group and helped bridge American and European art beyond nationalist rivalries. He served as editorial secretary for the avant-garde journal Tel Quel and now holds the same role for L'Infini (Gallimard). He also held the aesthetics chair at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris and contributed to artpress from its first issue, which featured his critical rereading of the Marcel Duchamp myth. The interview is conducted by Pascal Boulanger, Jacques Henric, and Catherine Millet, with a preface by Catherine Francblin.
