artpress Interviews Michel Houellebecq Across Three Decades
artpress has published a collection of three interviews with Michel Houellebecq conducted at pivotal moments in his career: in 1995 upon the release of his debut novel Extension du domaine de la lutte; in 2008 during the publication of Ennemis publics, a dialogue with Bernard-Henri Lévy addressing public attacks; and in 2010 following his Prix Goncourt-winning novel La Carte et le Territoire. The volume includes contributions by Christophe Duchatelet, Jacques Henric, Jean-Yves Jouannais, and Catherine Millet, with a preface by Jacques Henric. The book features Houellebecq's statement: "L'acte initial, c'est le refus radical du monde tel quel" (The initial act is the radical refusal of the world as it is).
