publication · 2026-04-19

Artpress has published a comprehensive anthology titled "Arte Povera. Une constellation" featuring critical texts and interviews spanning from 1980 to 2024. The collection includes Germano Celant's 1980 analysis of contemporary Italian art history and his 1981 examination of Mario Merz as a nomadic artist. Recent contributions feature a 2024 interview with Pier Paolo Calzolari by Guillaume de Sardes and Giuliano Sergio's 2020 text on Emilio Prini. The volume contains interviews with Michelangelo Pistoletto by Maïten Bouisset from 1994 and with Giulio Paolini by Michel Bourest from 1991. Critical essays explore Luciano Fabro's identity questions through a 1990 interview with Margit Rowell and Jannis Kounellis' work beyond raw and cooked elements by Catherine Francblin in 2019. Patrick Javault contributes analyses of Alighiero Boetti from 1985 and Gilberto Zorio from 1986. The anthology examines Piero Gilardi's aesthetics of renunciation through Erik Verhagen's 2010 text and Pino Pascali's shamanism and modernity via Udo Kultermann's 1991 essay. Claude Gintz's 1984 analysis considers archaic and contemporary elements in Giuseppe Penone's sculpture. Christian Bernard's 1989 text explores Claudio Parmiggiani's infinite gaze. Jean-Marc Poinsot's 1982 essay focuses on Anselmo's infinite concepts. The collection concludes with a postscript by Étienne Hatt and includes author biographies.
