artmonte-carlo 2019: new galleries, PAD Monaco, and sculpture focus

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

Artmonte-carlo's fourth edition is scheduled for April 26 to 28, 2019, at Monaco's Grimaldi Forum. Directed by Thomas Hug, this fair originated in 2016 as a spin-off of artgenève, catering to affluent collectors on the French Riviera. Newcomers such as White Cube, 303 Gallery, Raffaella Cortese, Mazzoleni, and Skopia will join established exhibitors like Victoria Miro, Blain|Southern, kamel mennour, and Perrotin. A significant highlight is the inaugural PAD Monaco, showcasing 30 galleries in the Diaghilev space, linked to artmonte-carlo through ten monographic exhibitions. The Prix Solo artmontecarlo – F.P.Journe will honor the top solo exhibition, judged by Beatrix Ruf, Theresa Mavica, and Cristiano Raimondi. Additionally, Samuel Gross will curate the Face to Face group show, featuring sculptures across 500 square meters. Public installations will include works by Wang Du and an Artcurial sculpture trail. Hug noted the fair's intimate scale and its ongoing Criss-Cross dialogue program, initiated in 2018.
