ARTMargins Online Launches 'Artist Files' Series on Marginalized Eastern European Artists
ARTMargins Online has introduced a new series called 'Artist Files' dedicated to overlooked artists from former Eastern Europe. The inaugural essay focuses on Polish-German artist Gerard Kwiatkowski, whose artistic practice has been overshadowed by his curatorial work and role as founder of EL Gallery. The series aims to highlight artists who have been neglected both internationally and within their own countries. Dorota Michalska authored the piece, which examines Kwiatkowski's contributions to postwar Polish art in the 'Recovered Territories.' The publication appeared in December 2017, marking the beginning of this ongoing project to document marginalized artistic figures from the region.
