ARTMargins Online Issues Call for Papers on East-Central European Art in Global Context

publication · 2026-04-19

ARTMargins Online (AMO) invites submissions that critically explore contemporary art from East-Central Europe through global perspectives. The platform welcomes various formats, such as podcasts and video interviews. Contributors should focus on political, social, and cultural contexts, particularly examining themes like socialism, migration, neoliberalism, and the marginalization of gender, race, class, and citizenship. Articles must delve into the impacts of empire and colonialism in the region. AMO publishes review essays, artist interviews, and the 'In View' series highlighting lesser-known artworks. Word limits are as follows: general articles (3000-5000 words), exhibition reviews (2000-2500 words), book reviews (1500-2500 words), and interviews (2000-2500 words). The 'One on One' series is dedicated to discussions of individual artworks, capped at 2000 words.
