ARTMargins Online Implements Nonexclusive Publication Agreement for Authors

publication · 2026-04-19

ARTMargins Online (AMO) requires authors to grant nonexclusive licenses as a prerequisite for publication, while authors retain full copyright ownership. The agreement grants AMO first publication rights, after which authors may license their work to other publishers with appropriate credit given to AMO. Authors must warrant they are the sole creators of original, unpublished submissions not under consideration elsewhere, and must immediately notify AMO if accepted by another publication. Permission must be obtained for all included images from copyright holders, and authors guarantee their articles do not violate libel, copyright, patent, trade secret, or other laws. For multiple authors, the corresponding author may sign on behalf of all with proper authority. The agreement constitutes the entire understanding between parties, may only be modified in writing, and terminates if publication does not occur within two years of signature. Authors agree to indemnify AMO against claims alleging breach of these warranties.
