ARTMargins Online Calls for Submissions on Art and Race in Eastern and Central Europe

ARTMargins Online invites submissions for a special edition focused on art and race within contemporary Eastern and Central Europe. Artists, critics, and scholars are encouraged to contribute works that examine power dynamics and racial narratives in both postwar and modern contexts. This call for contributions arises in light of increasing right-wing populism and xenophobia. Potential topics include artists' perspectives on race, the influence of migration on artistic expression, and representations of race in postwar Socialist Realism. The issue will evaluate critical frameworks such as globalism and postcolonialism. Contributions may consist of interviews (1,500–2,000 words), brief articles (3,000–4,000 words), and artist projects.
