ArtMadrid On Paper: New Spanish Art Fair Focused on Works on Paper

A new art fair, ArtMadrid On Paper, will launch in Madrid from November 15 to 19, 2017, at the Galería de Cristal of CentroCentro in the Palacio de Cibeles. Organized by Art Space Madrid, the same company behind ArtMadrid, the fair exclusively features works on paper, including drawing, printmaking, photography, and artist books. It aims to bridge historical techniques with contemporary aesthetics, offering unique works, multiples, and limited editions. The fair follows the model of Wopart, a similar fair that debuted in Lugano, Switzerland, in September 2016, which attracted international galleries such as Continua, Monica De Cardenas, Lia Rumma, and Tornabuoni. ArtMadrid On Paper targets collectors and galleries specializing in paper works, with application deadline July 14, 2017, and a participation fee of €550 (€150 non-refundable). Stands average 20 m² at €225 per m² plus VAT, with an additional €650 for catalog and promotion. The fair seeks to carve a niche in the contemporary art scene, competing with Wopart for exhibitors.
