ArtLine Public Sculpture Park Launches in Milan's CityLife District
Milan's CityLife district has inaugurated ArtLine, a public art project supported by the municipality since a 2015 competition. Curated by Roberto Pinto and presented by Culture Councillor Filippo Del Corno, the initiative selected eight artists under 40 for permanent outdoor works integrated with architecture by Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki, and Daniel Libeskind, and the Gustafson Porter-designed park. The first two installations were unveiled: Matteo Rubbi's 'I Cieli di Belloveso,' a starry pavement in Piazza Burri, and Serena Vestrucci's 'Vedovelle e Draghi Verdi,' ten public water fountains in brass produced by two historic Milan foundries. Other selected artists include Biscotti, Benassi, Fregni Nagler, Gupta Husni Bey, and Prieto.
