ArtLine expands at Milan's CityLife park with new works by Paci, Airò, Jaar

Milan's CityLife district is expanding its park by 5,000 square meters, adding 90 new tree species to the existing 2,000. The ArtLine public art project, promoted by the Municipality of Milan, is also growing. New site-specific works by Adrian Paci, Mario Airò, and Alfredo Jaar are being installed, joining existing pieces by Wilfredo Prieto and Maurizio Nannucci. The full ArtLine park is scheduled to open with an inauguration event in summer 2021. The park's green focus aligns with ForestaMI, an urban forestry initiative aiming to plant 3 million trees in the metropolitan area by 2030. By end of 2021, the entire 173,000 sqm park will be completed, making it Milan's second largest public park. It includes the Orti Fioriti (3,000 sqm of flower and vegetable gardens) and a 1,500 sqm vineyard with 170 vines. For Christmas, the Shopping District features AD LUMEN – CityLifers X Sustainability by Annalaura di Luggo, with a pyramid tree, luminous portal, and eye installations made from recycled materials.
