Artists mobilize to support Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome

Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome faces eviction due to an €800,000 debt to the municipality. The unique social project, operating since 1983, has been a hub for feminist associations offering services and counseling. In response, artist Cecilia Luci launched 'Sei Racconti, nei labirinti dell’arte e della filosofia,' a series of workshops with prominent cultural figures to raise funds. The first event took place on June 26 with Bruno Di Marino. Upcoming sessions include July 4 with Cesare Biasini Selvaggi and Francesco Cascino (discussing art thinking and quality selection), July 10 with Raffaella Perna (art and photography in 1960s-70s Italy), July 17 with Ilaria Bernardi (art's crossover into theater in Rome, 1965-68), July 24 with Barbara Martusciello (love in contemporary art), and a September date with Guido Traversa and Giovanni Intra Sidola (aesthetic experience). The initiative aims to address the debt while the city government, led by Mayor Virginia Raggi, remains unresponsive despite public mobilization.
