Artists Magazine Names 10 Winners of 19th Annual Over 60 Competition

Artists Magazine has announced the 10 winners of its 19th Annual Over 60 Art Competition, recognizing artists aged 60 and older working in traditional media. The winners include Ron Brown (San Dimas, California) with a charcoal drawing, Peggy Magover (Danville, California) with colored pencil and pastel, Suzy Schultz (Atlanta, Georgia) with watercolor and gouache, Wooley Dutton (Bonita Springs, Florida) with acrylic, Ken Graning (Holly, Michigan) with gouache, James Vose (Edina, Minnesota) with oil, Jeanne Crain Leemon (Loudon, Tennessee) with oil, Ken Goldman (San Diego, California) with acrylic, Julia Doemland (Ringoes, New Jersey) with pastel, and Lauren Knobe (Phoenix, Arizona) with oil. The competition, now in its 19th year, celebrates artists who have often spent decades creating art and are now embracing creative freedom in later life. The winning works and artist insights are featured in the July/August 2026 issue of Artists Magazine. The competition will mark its 20th anniversary next year, offering cash prizes and publication for artists aged 60 and older.
