Artists for Artists Launches Peer-to-Peer Pedagogical Platform with Radical Care Ethos

digital · 2026-04-19

Artists for Artists (AfA), an online platform established by Stefanos Tsivopoulos and Chrisoula Lionis, aims to link seasoned artists with emerging talent worldwide. Since its launch in July 2020, the platform's first masterclass included 24 artists from 17 different cities, such as New York, Bangalore, and Santiago. Without any institutional support, AfA operates on a peer-to-peer micro-funding approach, where each participant donates $50 to assist three fellow artists. Workshops conducted by Terike Haapoja, Ahmet Öğüt, and Tsivopoulos focused on collaborative efforts without hierarchy. Upcoming initiatives involve online residencies, a curated exhibition by Abhijan Toto, a second masterclass in November 2020, and a physical event in Athens during Summer 2021, created in response to the lack of institutional aid during the COVID-19 pandemic.
