festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The second edition of the Straperetana Winter Edition culinary challenge took place in Pereto, Abruzzo, organized by Paola Capata, Delfo Durante, and Saverio Verini. Four pairs of gallerists and artists competed: Beatrice Bertini (Ex Elettrofonica) with Marco Raparelli; Sara Zanin (Z2o) with Giovanni de Cataldo; Carla Chiarchiaro (ADA) with Diego Gualandris; and Gabriele Gaspari (MAGAZZINO) with Elisabetta Benassi (replaced due to illness by Monitor staff and Matteo Fato). The winning dish was Melanzana alla parmigiana e zucchine with basil reduction and parmesan cream by Z2o and De Cataldo. Second place went to Polenta Taragna e Fegatini di pollo by ADA and Gualandris, third to risotto alla zucca by Ex Elettrofonica and Raparelli, and fourth to Pipindun e ovo by Capata and Fato. Participants emphasized the value of informal gatherings outside the art market's frenzy. The event fostered community and human connections, as highlighted in interviews with the artists.
