Artists and Artisans Unite to Save Venice After Devastating Flood

On November 12, 2019, Venice experienced a significant acqua alta reaching 187 cm, endangering its cultural legacy. The 53rd issue of Artribune Magazine devoted six columns to this topic, showcasing illustrations from Bruno Bozzetto, Lucio Schiavon, and Olimpia Zagnoli in the initiative 'Cronache di una città sommersa,' sponsored by Fallani Venezia. A total of nine graphic pieces were created, with each piece limited to 50 signed copies available for online purchase. The project, envisioned by Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto and Andrea Da Villa, supports a workshop established by Gianpaolo Fallani's father in 1968. Proceeds will contribute to recovery efforts following the flood. Fallani highlights the importance of art in tackling Venice's challenges and promotes the revival of the city and its traditional crafts. Plans for future editions are in progress.
