Artist and Filmmaker Stuart Croft Dies at 45

Stuart Croft, a London-based artist and filmmaker, has died. The Royal College of Art in London confirmed his passing. Croft served as a senior tutor at the institution. In 2009, he founded the RCA's Moving Image Studio. He established the RCA's new Moving Image Pathway in 2013. His films frequently explored power, recurrence, entrapment, and desire. They blended fiction with cinema while reimagining various genres. Film noir, Hollywood musicals, road movies, and documentaries intersected with literary forms in his work. These included fables, screenplays, shaggy-dog stories, and poetry. Croft was born in 1970 and died in 2015.
