Artissima Turin seeks new artistic director for 2022-2024
Artissima, the contemporary art fair in Turin, has opened a call for a new artistic director for the 2022-2024 term, with possible extension for two more years. The search is launched by Fondazione Torino Musei after Ilaria Bonacossa's five-year tenure ending in 2021. The new director will be responsible for the fair's commercial and cultural project, consolidating its international positioning, ensuring artistic quality, and increasing profitability. Candidates must have specialist knowledge of contemporary art, strong relationships in the art market, management experience, and fluency in Italian and English. Applications and project proposals must be submitted by September 13, 2021, via certified email. The 2021 edition, themed 'Controtempo', will take place both physically at Oval Lingotto Fiere from November 5-7 and digitally on the XYZ platform from November 4-9. Curated sections include Back to the Future (curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Mouna Mekouar), Disegni (Bettina Steinbrügge and Lilou Vidal), and Present Future (Ilaria Gianni and Fernanda Brenner). Historical sections include Main Section, New Entries, Dialogue/Monologue, and Art Spaces & Editions.
