Artissima's Fondamenta: Online Platform Blends Curatorial Rigor with Market Appeal

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Artissima has introduced Fondamenta, an online platform displaying 200 artworks curated by fair section curators in partnership with galleries, accessible until July 5. Ilaria Bonacossa, the director, refers to it as a collaborative effort, focusing on conceptual art and sculpture. In the Main Section, notable pieces include Francesco Arena's Cube (Todo Modo) (2020), Diego Perrone's Senza titolo (2020), Alberto Borea's Aspiradora (2017), and Namsal Siedlecki's Viandanti (2019). The Drawings section, overseen by Letizia Ragaglia and Bettina Steinbrügge, features only female artists such as Eva Marisaldi and Mariana Castillo Debal. The Back to the Future section showcases Franco Vimercati's Untitled (Zuppiera) (1991) and Roman Signer's Barrell with Explosion (Düsseldorf) (1992), while Present Future includes Ariel Schlesinger's Untitled (Nests) (2017).
