Artissima 2025 in Turin: Top and Flops of the Art Week
Turin's 2025 Art Week featured a vibrant Artissima, complemented by various collateral fairs and outstanding exhibitions. Key attractions included the excellence of GAM, the dynamic offerings at Rivoli, the Fernand Léger exhibition at Venaria, Sandretto's celebration of its 30th anniversary, Merz's showcase, and Chiara Camoni's Luci d'Artista installation, which will represent Italy at the 2026 Venice Biennale. Significant events took place at Camera with Cristian Chironi, as well as at MAO, Palazzo Madama, and Fondazione Griffa. Under Lorenza Bravetta, the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile underwent revitalization with new installations. Cripta747 featured performances by Martina Rota and Andrea Bambini & Elena Francalanci. However, issues arose with closed galleries, a disappointing Alice Neel exhibition, neglected public spaces, and worries about power concentration linked to the main sponsor.
