Artissima 2025: director Luigi Fassi on the richest edition yet
The 32nd Artissima, led by Luigi Fassi, is set to take place from October 31 to November 2 at the Oval Lingotto in Turin. This year's theme draws inspiration from Richard Buckminster Fuller’s 1969 publication "Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth," focusing on shared responsibility. Curated sections include Present Future (Léon Kruijswijk, Joel Valabrega), Back to the Future (Heike Munder, Jacopo Crivelli Visconti), and Disegni (Irina Zucca Alessandrelli). Off-site initiatives feature "The screen is a muscle" at Le Gallerie d’Italia, Basim Magdy's "New Acid," and Renato Leotta at Hotel Principi di Piemonte. Works from prize winners will be displayed at Pinacoteca Agnelli, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, and Vanni Occhiali. Fassi emphasizes the significance of collaboration during economic downturns, with strong international participation and new partnerships, including an anonymous art project and the Vilnius Residency Prize.
