Artissima 2020 Cancelled, But Turin Art Week Proceeds with Other Fairs
Due to the pandemic, Artissima 2020 will not take place in its traditional physical format but will instead shift to a digital platform and collaborate with Fondazione Torino Musei on a project. Meanwhile, other art fairs in Turin, including Flashback, The Others, Paratissima, DAMA, and NESXT, will continue with necessary safety measures. Ginevra Pucci, the director of Flashback, highlighted the emphasis on quality rather than quantity. Roberto Casiraghi, director of The Others, remarked on the significance of contemporary art in Turin despite the absence of Artissima. Paratissima will occur from October 23 to December 8, as stated by Francesca Canfora and Lorenzo Germak. Giorgio Galotti from DAMA mentioned a live video program focus, while Olga Gambari from NESXT proposed that Artissima's cancellation might lead to a collaborative project across the city.
