Artissima 2017: New Section, Female Curators, and 50 Years of Arte Povera
The 24th edition of Artissima, the Turin art fair, will take place from November 3 to 5, 2017, at Oval Lingotto Fiere, with Ilaria Bonacossa as the new director. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Arte Povera, the fair introduces a new section called 'Disegni' (Drawings), curated by Luís Silva and João Mourão, showcasing 26 artists from 26 galleries. Existing sections include Present Future and Back to the Future. The Main Section features 95 galleries, while New Entries has 13, Dialogue includes 33, and Editions & Publishing comprises 10. Other awards presented will be the Fondazione Ettore Fico Prize and the Campari Art Prize. The Chamber of Commerce supports a study on the fair's economic impact, and an ecological Sunday on November 5 may limit traffic.
