Artificare: Venetian Artists Collaborate with Local Companies in University-Led Project

Artificare, a research project by Ca' Foscari University and IUAV University of Venice, paired seven Italian artists with seven Venetian companies in 2017. Coordinated by Angela Vettese and Fabrizio Panozzo, the initiative aimed to foster dialogue between artistic creativity and industrial know-how. Funded by the Veneto Region and the European Union, the project involved research fellows Corinne Mazzoli, Annabella Sperotto, and Viviana Carlet. Artists included Andreco (with De Castelli), Gli Impresari (with Cantiere Daniele Manin), Alfredo Agostinelli (with Cultour Active), Blauer Hase (with Gruppo Fallani), Francesco Mattuzzi (with Delineodesign), Michele Spanghero (with OMP Engineering), and Valentina Furian (with Ugolini s.r.l.). Results were presented on October 27, 2017. Panozzo emphasized the experimental focus on processes over final works, while Vettese framed the project within Venice's history of eccentric productivity and the need for universities to bridge art and industry.
