Arthur Mamou-Mani on Parametric Design, 3D Printing, and the Future of Sustainable Architecture

Arthur Mamou-Mani, an architect born in Paris in 1983 and currently based in East London, advocates for a digital transformation in architecture to address climate change and urban growth. His firm, Mamou-Mani Architects, employs parametric design, digital fabrication, and AI to create sustainable structures. After completing his studies at the Architectural Association in London, he constructed a 3D printer in 2011 and collaborated with Adam Holloway on the Silkworm plugin. His notable clients include Arup, Buro Happold, and the Burning Man Festival, for which he designed the Galaxia temple in 2018. In 2019, he unveiled Conifera, an installation featuring 700 modular bio-bricks at Palazzo Isimbardi, emphasizing future construction techniques with wood and bioplastics. Influenced by Zaha Hadid, Mamou-Mani envisions buildings integrated into a circular economy.
