Arthemisia Wins Concession for Venice Civic Museums Bookshops

institutional · 2026-05-05

Arthemisia, led by President Iole Siena, has won the concession to manage bookshops across Venice's network of 11 civic museums, including Palazzo Ducale, Museo Correr, Ca' Rezzonico, Ca' Pesaro, and Palazzo Fortuny. The company, which has organized over 572 exhibitions and attracted 55 million visitors over 15 years, partnered with Spanish firm Palacios y Museos to revamp the retail spaces. The project aims to replace standard souvenirs with design objects and cultural products, involving local artisans and artists to create unique merchandise for each museum. Plans include reading areas and play zones for children. Future international expansions include a New York office opening in March and a Bruegel exhibition tour in Japan. In Italy, upcoming shows feature Liu Bolin at the Vittoriano, Andy Warhol in Bologna, Escher in Naples, Van Dyck in Turin, and a Vesperbild exhibition at Milan's Castello Sforzesco.
