Arthemisia Group Expands to Spain, Lisbon, and New York

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Arthemisia Group is expanding internationally, bringing its exhibition model to Madrid, Lisbon, and soon New York's Brooklyn. President Iole Siena announced the opening of 'Duchamp, Magritte, Dalí. Revolucionarios del siglo XX' at Palacio de Gaviria in Madrid, sponsored by the Israeli embassy, as works come from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The group has already attracted 400,000 visitors in Madrid with two previous shows. The Palacio de Gaviria, once decadent, has been renovated with a covered Andalusian patio for conferences and contemporary art. Future plans include a Tamara de Lempicka exhibition in autumn. The current show features 180 works—photographs, collages, ready-mades, drawings, and oils—selected by Adina Kamien-Kadzan from the Israel Museum, organized into five thematic sections. Key works include Magritte's 'The Castle of the Pyrenees' (1959), Dalí's 'Surrealist Proof' (1934), and Man Ray's 'Main Ray' (1935). The exhibition is designed by architect Oscar Tusquets Blanca, a friend of Dalí, with colorful panels and a reconstruction of Dalí's Mae West room. Many works come from the Arturo Schwarz collection, donated to the Israel Museum. The show runs until July 15, 2018, at Palacio de Gaviria.
