Artes Mundi 10 Announces £40,000 Prize and Exhibitions Across Wales

The tenth iteration of the biennial prize and exhibition, Artes Mundi 10 (AM10), is set to take place from 20 October 2023 until 25 February 2024 at five locations throughout Wales. Featured will be seven contemporary visual artists from around the globe: Mounira Al Solh, Rushdi Anwar, Alia Farid, Nguyễn Trinh Thi, Taloi Havini, Carolina Caycedo, and Naomi Rincón Gallardo, each showcasing solo projects that include new works, previously unseen pieces, and UK debuts. The £40,000 Artes Mundi Prize winner will be revealed during this period. Venue partners comprise National Museum Cardiff, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Chapter, Mostyn, and Oriel Davies Gallery. The Bagri Foundation is the presenting partner for both AM10 and the upcoming 2025 edition. Director Nigel Prince noted that the works explore themes such as land use, displacement, and environmental change. Previous winners include notable artists like Apichatpong Weerasethakul and John Akomfrah.
