Arteria Gallery in Barcelona Bridges Community and International Promotion

Arteria, a gallery and cultural association founded by architect Laura Sottosanti and interior designer Alissa Gianotti in Barcelona, has been operating since 2021. It functions as a hub for local and international artists, including painters, sculptors, performers, musicians, photographers, and dancers, through exhibitions, events, and networking. The space, a former bakery with a rare 5-meter-high ceiling, was fully renovated to create a dynamic environment. The gallery's name reflects its mission to be a vital connection in society. Sottosanti, who studied architecture at Politecnico and worked at Miralles studio on projects like the Santa Caterina market, left architecture to pursue art. Arteria aims to make art accessible beyond collectors, selecting artists with inclusive personalities. The gallery launched the YouTube series 'Inside Arteria,' starting with artist Maria Fernandez, visiting about ten local studios. Collaborations with nonprofits like Conex Catalunya support marginalized artists. The exhibition 'Timeless Beauty,' opened June 27, explores eternal beauty through contemporary, abstract, and minimalist works. Arteria plans its first Madrid show during Open Gallery Week and will expand to Milan in 2025, aiming to engage prepared audiences and educate Barcelona's public.
