Arte Laguna Prize Adds Design Category, 42,000 Euro Prize Pool

In its thirteenth year, the Arte Laguna Prize, which celebrates contemporary art for emerging talents, has introduced a design category in the 2018 edition, following the addition of an urban art section in 2017. This new design segment encourages entries of furniture or decorative pieces that highlight visual aesthetics. The jury comprises architect Alfonso Femia, designer Danilo Premoli, and Igor Zanti, the general curator of the prize. Five finalists will be showcased for three weeks at the Arsenale di Venezia, culminating in a final exhibition featuring 120 finalists across all categories from March 16 to April 7, 2019. A total of six winners will divide a prize fund of 42,000 euros, with applications due by November 27, 2018.
