Arte Laguna Prize 2021 Winners Announced Across Two Editions
The Arte Laguna Prize 2021 announced its winners for the 14th and 15th editions, with the exhibition running at the Arsenale Nord in Venice until November 21. The show features 240 finalist works from both editions, including seven absolute winners and 42 artists selected for special prizes by international partners. The winners each receive €10,000. The 15th edition winners are Belén Mazuecos (Spain, b. 1978) with "Fragile artist: Handle with care II" (2017), Moshe Vollach (Israel, b. 1958) with "31 cubes" (2016), and Gao Yuan (China, b. 1986) with the animated film "Cloud of the Unknown" (2019). The 14th edition winners are Primož Ježa (Slovenia, b. 1968) with "Frankenstein's Bride" (2013), Leonardo Sinopoli (Italy, b. 1998) with "331, Say their names" (2020), Witold Riedl (Poland, b. 1969) with "Drawings from a liquified forest", and Samuelle Green (USA, b. 1976) with "Manifestation". The exhibition is curated by Igor Zanti and Matteo Galbiati, with a side show "Soul Energy" by Vietnamese artist Henry Le curated by Chiara Canali until October 12.
