ARTE Generali Launches Innovative Art Insurance in Italy
ARTE Generali, the art insurance platform by Generali Group, has launched in Italy after its initial rollout in Germany in 2020. The platform was announced a year ago in Milan with a campaign by Oliviero Toscani and Maurizio Cattelan. Led globally by Jean Gazançon, with Giovanni Liverani as CEO of Generali Deutschland, the service is now available for private collectors and exhibitions in Italy, while institutional clients like museums and foundations will have access in early 2021. The offering emphasizes digitalization, including a mobile app for cataloging, remote valuations, and market data. Italo Carli, Head of ARTE Generali in Italy, outlined four service areas: Protection, Conservation, Valorization, and Evaluation, supported by a network of experts and a 24/7 concierge service. Generali has been active in the arts since 2016 through its Valore Cultura program, which has supported 130 nonprofit activities, attracting 5 million visitors and involving 50,000 students. In 2021, Generali will sponsor a Giorgio de Chirico exhibition at the Kunsthalle Hamburg, opening January 22, featuring a work from its private collection. ARTE Generali aims to become one of the top three art insurers in Europe within five years and achieve market leadership in the long term, leveraging Generali's financial strength and technological innovation.
